Kink, Fetish & BDSM

At Face to Face Therapia we welcome all people regardless of their sexual practices, preferences or identities. Our therapists work with people who practice BDSM (bondage & discipline, domination & submission, and sadism & masochism), or have sexual fetishes. We understand the wide range of sexualities that exist, and there are variety of ways which people find satisfaction and pleasure in consensual sexual relationships and practices.

At Face to Face Therapia, we do not judge or pathologize our clients for their sexual activities and preferences. Our therapists are knowledgeable and experienced in working with people who have variety of issues including:

Relationship Issues; we understand how power and role dynamics may be involved within the context of BDSM.

Everyday Problems; you may have issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, or family of origin problems which are not related to your sexual preferences and practices.

Coming Out; at Face to Face Therapia we can help you explore your own sexuality and interests.

Cultural Role Conflicts; we offer support if you struggle with your identity inside the BDSM world.

Vanilla & Kink Conflicts; in cases when your partner identifies as kinky but you identify as “vanilla”. Vanilla means that you don’t identify as having kinky tendencies or interests. Our therapists can help you validate your preferences while accepting your partner's choices.

Internalized Oppression; at Face to Face Therapia, we support you in understanding the sources of shame about your sexual preferences.

Abuse & Trauma; At Face to Face Therapia, we realise that there is a difference between consensual BDSM practices and abuse. We aim to help you recover from the effects of traumatic experiences resulting from non-consensual sexual experiences.

If you’ve been thinking of starting therapy give us a call.  We can work together on the issues you identify without pathologizing your sexual preferences, lifestyle or identity.
