Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a process of self-inquiry. It can help you understand yourself, your relationship patterns, and other people. By identifying your fears, desires and emotional needs, you also gain a deeper insight into the issues that are troubling you. The ultimate aim of individual therapy is to give you clarity and perspective, and, building on this, to help you develop strategies to improve your emotional health.
 
Whilst there are other issues that are addressed in individual therapy, common problems include:
• Feelings of anxiety
• Body image concerns
• Grief and loss
• Relationship issues
• Trauma caused by emotional, physical or sexual abuse 
• Loneliness and isolation
• Stress
 
At Face to Face Therapia we see psychotherapy as a spontaneous, creative process. Psychotherapy often includes:
 
- helping people become aware of early childhood patterns or other issues that may be causing them difficulties
- working with a client's dreams or physical symptoms
- activities such as drawing, movement, story telling etc,
- getting to know unexplored or 'shunned' parts of yourself that may be causing a psychological imbalance
- exploring spirituality and spiritual beliefs
