Group Therapy, Support Groups and Demystifying Dreams

Group Therapy, Support Groups and Demystifying Dreams

When we interact with others, we learn about ourselves. This is why group therapy can be so beneficial. By sharing and discussing their stories, participants become more aware of the way they relate to others, the community and the world-at-large. This self-knowledge can help clarify the reasons for their emotional difficulties and give them the confidence to make changes. In support groups, people with similar issues share experiences and coping strategies, helping them to feel empowered rather than alienated by their problems.

Group work can increase our awareness of:

• our relationship to the community and the wider world
• how we deal with, and resolve conflict
• how and where to find support

Demystifying Dreams

We can all interpret our dreams individually, but when we share them with a group we benefit from the empathy, wisdom and life experiences of others, giving them a broader context and meaning. Melike Kayhan, Psychoanalyst and Psychotherapist at Face to Face Therapia, facilitates this fascinating group.

We meet on the first & third Wednesday of each month, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
