Dr. İlke Kadioğlu Sienkiewicz graduated from İstanbul Bilgi University’s psychology department in 2006. She then moved to the United States and completed graduate school at the APA accredited American School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University. After obtaining her master’s degree in clinical psychology, Dr. Kadıoğlu started her doctoral degree in the same program. She graduated in 2012 with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology after passing her clinical competency examination with “high distinction.” She then passed her Examination for Professional Practice for Psychology (EPPP), as well as the California Psychological Supplemental Exam (CPSE), and earned a license to practice clinical psychology in the state of California in 2014. During her undergraduate years, Dr. Kadıoğlu worked at İ. Ü. Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi – Pediatric Oncology service, as a volunteer student therapist, and worked with children with diagnosis of cancer and their parents in individual and group psychotherapy settings. In addition to this, she also worked with children as a volunteer teacher in Türk Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı.
In 2006, Dr. Kadıoğlu moved to Houston, Texas and observed the volunteers who work with children with cancer and their families. Between the years of 2007 and 2009, Dr. Kadıoğlu completed a series of supervised practicums as part of her Master’s program. She spent one year at the Cancer Support Community based in San Francisco, California completing her fırst clinical practicum. She completed her second practicum at the Hyde Street Community Services, Inc. - Tenderloin Outpatient Clinic. Lastly, she completed an advanced practicum at the Telecare Heritage Psychiatric Hospital in Oakland, California. At these sites Dr. Kadıoğlu worked as an intern therapist and practiced individual and group therapy under the supervision of other licensed psychologists. She gained experience working with ethnically diverse, low-income individuals presenting with a variety of mental health conditions including trauma, suicidality, anxiety, mood disorders, and psychosis. At these sites Dr. Kadıoğlu also gained experience completing intake assessments as well as providing crisis management.
Dr. Kadıoğlu completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Portia Bell Hume Behavioral Health and Training Center. Following this she completed her post-doctoral externship at the Goodwill Wellness Center. In these two clinics, Dr. Kadıoğlu provided individual/group therapy, as well as couples therapy, and received supervision. She also completed intake assessments and provided trainings to other students. In 2011, she completed an Emotionally Focused Therapy externship lead by Rebecca Jorgensen, Scott Woolley, and Mark Kaupp. She also completed her “Core Skills Training course” with Rebecca Jorgensen.
Dr. Kadıoğlu can provide individual, couples, and group therapy. In addition to this, she is qualified to provide supervision to psychology students. She currently is working as an Assistant Professor in the psychology program of İstanbul 29 Mayıs University.
